What it is?

IMPACT30 is a programme designed to develop young business leaders of the future. It is custom-designed to help you make an impact in your industry. We'll work with you as an individual, focusing on the tools, skills and knowledge required to grow your business.

We'll connect you with a range of experts who have been there and done it when it comes to establishing and growing a businesses. They'll share their experience and journey with you and help you get the most out of your own business decisions.

Who can apply?

We’re looking for applications from ambitious candidates seeking an opportunity to take their business to the next level. You should be:

  • 35 years of age or under
  • working in an enterprise less than three years old
  • a key decision maker within the business
  • ambitious, with the drive to take your business, or the business you work with, to national or international level
  • open to putting new ideas into practice that can boost business, and effect positive change working towards growth
  • be based in the Highlands and Islands.

What to expect

The programme has been designed to accommodate a broad range of enterprises from across the Highlands and Islands, using digital tools to ensure support is provided at individually convenient times. IMPACT30 is a cohort-based programme, delivering a relevant and innovative schedule customised to your location and stage of business development.

Our industry experts analyse your current challenges and plans for growth, delivering support and advice via a practical mix of one-to-one virtual consultations, plus intensive workshop learning. You also have the advantage of learning from interaction with other participants sharing your journey.

FAIR WORK CONDITIONS FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Any organisation applying for grant funding from HIE must comply with our fair work conditions for financial support. This includes: 

  • Paying all employees, aged 16 years and above (including apprentices), the Real Living Wage (currently £12.00* per hour) as a minimum.
    If you cannot meet this criterion, please contact us before you apply for funding, email enquiries@hient.co.uk
  • Having a flexible working policy
  • Be able to demonstrate how you support workforce development and foster employee engagement.

* The Real Living Wage increased from £10.90 per hour to £12.00 per hour on 24 October 2023. Employers have 6 months, until 01 May 2024, to implement the increase.

About the Northern Innovation Hub

This programme is delivered through the Northern Innovation Hub, a funding programme designed to build on and accelerate business innovation.

The Northern Innovation Hub was awarded £11m from the UK Government as part of the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal. The deal is a joint initiative supported by £315m investment from the UK and Scottish governments, Highland Council, HIE and the University of the Highlands and Islands. This programme also receives financial support through the European Regional Development Fund Scotland Programme.
