18th Annual Operation Warm: Warmer Winter Ahead For 5,000 CHA Youth

Mission accomplished! The Chicago Housing Authority and Operation Warm hosted the 18th annual coat distribution and resource fair on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at the UIC Forum.

Volunteers handed out 5,000 new winter coats to over 2,000 CHA families. We were also joined by 30 organizations offering valuable services at our resource fair. Families also received books from the National Book Foundation, Presenter of the National Book Awards and other goodies.

The event ensures that our youth are ready for the cold Chicago winter. Said one grateful parent: "They have kept them warm...These are really good coats.”
